More Videos
This site is truely great but it can still be improved...
One major thing that can be built apon is the Music Video Category...
iTunes has video so should WE!!

Defining 'Music'
GRRR, I had like a huge-as post but firefox closed on me lol. Damn.
Okay, just briefly I wanna sum up...
This site is free. And if you want to keep it free, music videos can't be added. It takes too much time, bandwidth, and you'd have to be a seriously sad person with no life to spend so much time doing so. A big chunk of the masters' days behind audiocrawler.com is spent just trying to keep the links working because so many are broken. The hosts of the music continously change their URL, location, etc. And that takes a long time to follow-up manually. There isn't a program that does so, not that I am aware of. And don't we all know it - we all love free stuff. Personally, as a student, I know I can't afford to go out and buy every single damned CD my favorite bands/artists release. And if you start off with a small number of bands, you'll end up with more than 365 on your favorites list by the end of the year. When you like something, you're bound to listen to their music influences and then theirs' and then theirs', and so on. It's an endless chain until it leads to the invention of musical instruments O.o;;
Okay, and another point.
I don't watch T.V. I think it's and useless. For God's sake, you lose more calories sleeping than watching T.V. I think ppl who sit and watch that mindless colored box are plain stupid. I read books instead. I don't watch music videos. I LISTEN to the music.
And have you noticed that without music are boring? But music without pictures isn't boring? Poetry can be interpreted in lots of ways. Same with music.
My point is, I like to visual everything. It's no fun watching T.V. when I can't make up what the character looks like, as opposed to reading a novel. And it's no fun when a poem has pictures because that just crushes the more vivid images I had in my mind. And with music? This is where I want to stress my point. Music is sound. We might totally a certain artist, but love one of their songs because we can relate to it. And why can we relate to it? Because we interpret it so suit our own lives, our own issues and situations. And do you even know what 'music' is? This is what music is:

1. The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre.
2. Vocal or instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody, harmony, or rhythm.

The lyrics mean something. The melodies mean something. The breaks mean something.
And each and every aspect of music means something different to each of us. That's the beauty of it. I can get 6.5 billion different views on a single song. Interpret it for yourself.
So in conclusion,
A. It's too much hassle for audiocrawler.com to keep the site free with music videos.
B. Music is about visualizing and interpreting it yourself.
C. And if you don't believe in my theory, you're not gonna die if you get it off another site!
I rest my case lol *phew* That was tiring lol.

i agree with getting the more videos idea... but after that long post it does seem kinda hard to do
there could at least be a browse videos option instead of just a browse artists option... so that u dont have to look through the list for your favorite artists and find out there isnt a video...just an idea... |
